Camera, background and export
See the design over your own video, set a backdrop, and export PNGs or the design file.
Preview on camera
Click Preview on camera to put your own video behind the design, so you can judge size, contrast and position on a real face. Your browser asks for permission to use the camera the first time.
- Your video is mirrored by default, the way you see yourself in a call. Click Mirror to turn that off.
- Click Stop camera when you’re done.
- The video never leaves your browser.
While the camera is off, a stand-in head-and-shoulders silhouette shows roughly where a person would sit. It’s only a guide and never appears in exports.
If the camera doesn’t start:
- “Camera access was refused”: allow the camera for this site in your browser’s site settings, then click Try again.
- “This browser cannot open a camera”: use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
Background picture
The Canvas section of the left panel sets a picture behind the design, such as a studio backdrop or an office. Click Choose to pick one (16:9 works best), then choose how it fills the frame:
| Fit | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cover | Fills the frame and crops the edges. |
| Fit | Shows the whole picture, with a dark surround. |
| Stretch | Fills the frame, ignoring the picture’s shape. |
Remove background takes it away. With no picture, the canvas shows a dark studio gradient.
The background is only for trying the design out: while the camera is on, your video covers it. Use PNG, JPEG or WebP pictures here.
Export
The Export menu has three options. Files are made in your browser and saved to your downloads. Nothing is uploaded.
| Option | What you get |
|---|---|
| Transparent PNG | The design at 1280 × 720, ready to lay over video in streaming or recording software. |
| Snapshot with camera / Snapshot on background | A PNG of the design over your camera or your background picture, for sharing a preview. Available when the camera is on or a background is set. |
| Save design file | A .json file you can open again later, in any browser, with Open design file. |
Before exporting a PNG:
- Fill in every field the design shows. An empty field exports as its faded placeholder, and an empty logo slot as a dashed square.
- Remove the background picture if you want only the tag on transparency.
What the design file includes
The design file holds the layout: every piece, its styling, and the background picture. It doesn’t include your Details or your logo. When someone else opens it, the tag fills in with their own details. Use this to share a design as a template.
