Uninstalling

How to remove Nametags and its camera from your Mac.

  1. Quit Nametags. Choose Quit Nametags from the menu bar icon. Closing the window isn’t enough.
  2. Switch your meeting apps to another camera, so none of them is holding on to the Nametags camera.
  3. Drag Nametags from Applications to the Trash. macOS removes the Nametags camera together with the app, and may ask for your password to do so.
  4. Restart your Mac if Nametags is still in a meeting app’s camera list afterwards.

Removing what’s left

Nametags leaves a few small files behind. To remove them too:

  • ~/Library/Application Support/nerdev.com.nametags/: your device ID, cached logo, and any usage events not yet sent.
  • ~/Library/Logs/nerdev.com.nametags/: the log files.
  • In Keychain Access, the items named nerdev.com.nametags: your saved sign-in.

Your nametag itself is kept in your account, not on the Mac. If you install Nametags again and sign in, it’s still there.
